ONTARIO, Calif.– The Ontario Reign (12-9-1-1), proud affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings, earned a 2-1 victory over the Bakersfield Condors (6-17-3-0) before 4,844 at Citizens Business Bank Arena Wednesday on C.J. Stretch's power-play goal with just 4.4 seconds left in regulation.  Dusty Carlson stopped 24 shots for his second consecutive win. 

Chris Huxley scored his second goal in as many games just 40 seconds into the contest with a point shot through traffic.  "I saw guys out in front of the net and I just took the shot," he said.  "Bodies and pucks on the net make good things happen."  C.J. Stretch and Derek Couture had assists on the play. 

Ontario’s defense kept Bakersfield off the board until 5:13 of the third period when a give-and-go around Huxley put Matt Marquardt on a breakaway and he chipped the puck over Carlson’s blocker.

The Reign poured 51 shots on Matt Keetley before Stretch tallied the winner with time about to expire.  Irwin put a shot on net and Stretch, who had parked himself on Keetley's doorstep, was there for the rebound.  "I knew it was there somewhere," Stretch said.  "I saw it and poked at it and it went in slowly."

Carlson (2-1-0) stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced and gave a lot of credit to the Reign defense.  "No one's cutting in on them and no one's getting past the back door," Carlson said.  "All I've got to do is stop the shot and they clear it out."  Keetley (4-8-1) turned aside 50 of the Reign's season-high 52 shots in the loss.
