Chavira Released From Contract, Jackson Activated Off IR, MacGregor Placed On 3-Day IR, Curran Transferred to 7-Day IR
ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of NHL Los Angeles Kings and AHL Manchester Monarchs, announced today that right wing Itan Chavira has been released from his contract. Left wing Todd Jackson has been activated off the injured reserve, and left wing Ryan MacGregor has been placed on the 3-day injured reserve. In addition, left wing Chris Curran has been transferred from the 3-day injured reserve to the 7-day injured reserve.
Chavira, 22, appeared in 16 games with the Reign in the 2008-2009 season. The Duarte, CA native registered six points (2g, 4a) and two penalty minutes in the first professional season of his career. Chavira signed his first professional contract after participating in the Reign’s open tryouts before the beginning of the season.
Jackson, 28, is currently in the fifth professional season of his career. The left wing has notched 28 points (13g, 15a) and 49 penalty minutes in 54 games with the Reign this season. Jackson was drafted in the 8th round (251st overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
MacGregor, 26, signed a contract with the Reign in October. The Ontario, Canada native has appeared in 50 games with the club this season. MacGregor has registered 19 points (5g,  14a) and 71 penalty minutes with the Reign.
Curran, 25, is playing in his first professional season. The left wing has scored 17 points (8g, 9a) in 58 games with the Reign. With 117 notched so far this season, Curran has the second most penalty minutes on the team.
