REIGN GIVE BACK BIG IN 2ND SEASON
$433,031 raised during the 2009-10 season for charity
ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, and in conjunction with their Hope Reigns Foundation announced that they raised $433,031 for various local and national charities during the 2009-2010 season through jersey auctions, fundraising and donations.
During their inaugural season, the Ontario Reign wasted no time getting involved with the community and raising money for local charitable organizations. The club’s second season in the Inland Empire was no exception. The Reign held eight jersey auctions throughout the 2009 – 2010 season, which the team sold in post-game auctions totaling $246,152 alone. Jersey auction benefactors included Cucamonga Valley Water District's Frontier Project, Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley, Riverside Ice Town Youth Hockey, American Red Cross Inland Empire Chapter, Stater Bros. Charities/Inland Women Fighting Cancer brought to you by Toyota of San Bernardino, University of Laverne scholarship program, Loma Linda University Children's Hospital and the West Coast Sports Medicine Foundation.
The Hope Reigns Foundation, the charitable entity of the Ontario Reign, donated $161,875 in memorabilia and game tickets to various causes throughout the community. Some of the larger ticket fundraisers went to benefit Randall Lewis Family Playhouse Hearts for Arts, Ontario AYSO, Fire on Ice II benefiting Muscular Dystrophy Association, Ontario Police Officers Association and the Boy Scouts of America.
“I’m pleased with the community footprint we were able to make in our second season. The outreach by our fans and corporate partners is tremendous, and I wish to thank them all for their continued support," said President, Justin Kemp. "We have a bigger responsibility to make the community we play in a better place to live and the lives of those who live here more fulfilling.”
