Reign Receives Pelech, Hill From Manchester

Defenseman Traccitto, Forward Popko Released From Contracts

ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announced that center Michael Pelech has been reassigned to Ontario by the Manchester Monarchs (AHL).  Defenseman Jordan Hill was released from his professional tryout with the Monarchs and will be joining the blue line in Ontario.   

Pelech, 21, started his professional career with the Ontario Reign during the 2009-10 season after being drafted by the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) in 2009 NHL Entry Draft.  Pelech, a Toronto, Ontario native, recorded 35 points (10g, 25a) and 133 penalty minutes in 72 games last season.  The center appeared on the ice with the Manchester Monarchs this season, but was scoreless through five games with the club.

Hill, 21, began his first full professional season this year with Manchester, but was held scoreless through five games.  The Sarnia, Ontario native started his junior career in 2007 with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL.  He played with the Sting from 2007-09, as well as part of the 2009-10 season before being traded to the Saginaw Spirit where he finished out the year.  Hill wrapped up his junior career with 65 points (16g, 49a) and 171 penalty minutes in 201 regular season contests and three points (2g, 1a) and 12 penalty minutes in 18 playoff appearances.

Traccitto, 21, made his professional debut with the Reign on October 15 in a 6-3 win at Stockton.  The defenseman, who hails from Oakville, Ontario, appeared in eight games with the Reign and recorded his first professional point with an assist on October 16.  Prior to signing with the Reign, Traccitto split five seasons in the OHL between the London Knights and the Niagara Ice Dogs.  

Popko, 22, played in his first professional match with the Reign on October 15 at Stockton.  The rookie forward spent four seasons with Boston University (H-East) from 2006-2010, amassing 44 points (15g, 29a) and 91 penalty minutes in 159 games.  The Skillman, New Jersey native was held scoreless through three matches with the Reign this season.
