Reign, Humane Society team up for fundraiser

For the second consecutive year , the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley is partnering with the Ontario Reign to raise funds for the animal-friendly organization.

On Saturday, "A Night at the Reign Pt. II" will give animal lovers a chance to check out the hockey team in action when they play the Las Vegas Wranglers at Citizens Business Bank Arena and help animals at the same time.

Tickets are offered at a discount of $12 per person if purchased through the Humane Society, said event coordinators. Tickets are available at the arena as well, but to benefit the animals they have to be purchased directly through the Humane Society.

Tickets are available online at www.hssbv.org or during normal business hours from the Humane Society's San Bernardino office, 374 W. Orange Show Road.

Hockey fans will also be able to bid on specialty-designed Humane Society jerseys Reign players will be wearing after the game. Proceeds will benefit the group's Humane Education and Cruelty Investigations programs.

"All of our fundraising efforts are important to us because we rely on donations for all our programs," said Teri Seymour, general manager for the non-profit organization. "Without donations from fundraising efforts like this, the community will lose out on the vital programs we offer."

Following the game, hockey fans will be able to mingle with Reign players at Boston's restaurant, 11260 E. Fourth St., Ontario.

"We're very excited about our partnership with the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley for the second consecutive season," said Laura Tolbirt, director of community, corporate, media and public relations. "They provide such an important service to our community and the Reign is proud to help raise funds and awareness for animals.
