Reign Dentist Provides Cash For Candy

Reign Dentist Provides Cash For Candy
Official Dentist Dr. Frank Finazzo Takes Stand Against Sweets This Halloween

FONTANA, Calif. – The Ontario Reign’s official dentist is redefining the phrase "put Winning_Smiles.JPGyour money where your mouth is.” This Halloween, trick-or-treaters can bring their excess candy to WinningSmiles Dentistry in Fontana and receive $1 for each pound that they turn in. Dr. Frank Finazzo is leading this anti-decay movement by giving away dollars and toothbrushes in exchange for cavity-provoking candy. "Ditch the candy! That's what we're saying,” Dr. Finazzo said. “Visiting your dentist at least twice per year and brushing daily are great preventative measures, but doing away with excess sweets altogether would really give your teeth a healthy boost. Kids can still have all of the fun of trick-or-treating and now their piggy banks will benefit as well."

Global sugar consumption for children increases by about 2% annually and currently sits at 50 million tons per year, which means parents need to be sure their kid's teeth are being cared for more than ever. Candy, as well as hurting children's teeth, can lead to hyperactivity and weight gain. In some cases, the candy can also lead to broken teeth and damaged braces.

Candy will be collected at WinningSmiles Dentistry located at 17113 Arrow Boulevard in Fontana, on Saturday, November 1, the day after Halloween, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The candy must be donated unopened where it will then be shipped to American troops overseas. After kids drop off their candy, fans are encouraged to head to the Ontario Reign versus Phoenix Roadrunners game that evening, where the puck will drop at 7 p.m.

In addition to WinningSmiles Dentistry, the Ontario Reign and the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital are sponsoring the candy buy back event. Donations will also be taken at this event to help benefit the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Finazzo is one of six dentists at WinningSmiles Dentistry, which emphasizes general family dental care as well as cosmetic and implant procedures. For more information, visit WinningSmiles Dentistry online at www.hockeydentist.net.
