The Ontario Reign announced today that defenseman Kevin Gravel has returned to the team from the Kings. In a separate transaction, the Kings traded defenseman Christian Ehrhoff to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Rob Scuderi.
Gravel, 23, registered 16 points (5-11=16) in 42 games with the Reign this season. The Kingsford, Michigan, native earned his first NHL call-up to the Kings on February 11 and appeared in four games with the club, including his NHL debut the same day against the New York Islanders.
During his rookie campaign last season, Gravel helped the Manchester Monarchs capture the 2015 Calder Cup Championship with 15 regular-season points (6-9=15) in 58 games and five assists in 19 Calder Cup Playoff games.
Ehrhoff, 33, skated in five games with the Reign this season, adding three assists. The Moers, Germany, native started the season with the Kings where he picked up 10 points (2-8=10) in 40 games.
