The Ontario Reign have announced that forwards Maxim Kitsyn, Matt Leitner and Scott Sabourin have joined the Reign from the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL.
Kitsyn, 24, leads the Monarchs with 23 goals and is second on the team with 45 points in 54 games played. The Novokuznetsk, Russia, native skated with the Reign in training camp earlier this season. Currently in his third professional North American season, Kitsyn appeared in seven games with the Monarchs last season (one goal) and 57 games with the Reign (ECHL) adding 43 points (26-17=43).
Leitner, 25, leads the Monarchs and is second among ECHL rookies with 49 points (12-37=49) in 51 games. Prior to turning pro, the Los Alamitos, California, native skated four seasons with Minnesota State University – Mankato and helped the Mavericks to WCHA titles in 2014 and 2015.
Sabourin, 23, appeared in 26 games with the Reign this season adding five points (3-5=5) and skated in three games with the Monarchs. The Orleans, Ontario, product is his in third professional season and helped the Monarchs (AHL) capture the Calder Cup Championship last season with 11 points (5-6=11) in 51 games.
