Prospects Middleton and Sharipzyanov Join Reign

The Ontario Reign announced today that defensemen Jacob Middleton and Damir Sharipzyanov have joined the Reign on amateur tryout agreements.

Middleton, 20, completed a four-year junior career with the Ontario Hockey League’s Ottawa 67’s and Owen Sound Attack totaling 86 points (14 goals, 72 assists) in 226 games. The Stratford, Ontario, native was selected by the LA Kings in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and served as the team captain of the 67’s last season.

Sharipzyanov, 20, skated three seasons with the Owen South Attack (pictured above) adding 71 points (19 goals, 52 assists) in 179 games and earned a silver medal with Team Russia in the 2016 World Junior Championships. The Nizhnekamsk, Russia, product signed a three-year entry-level contract with the LA Kings last August.
