Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward T.J. Hensick.
Hensick, 31, led the Reign last season with 52 points and 36 assists in 67 games played. The Howell, Michigan, became the 90th player in AHL history to reach 500 points on January 21 with a pair of assists vs. San Jose and enters his 11th professional season. In 570 career AHL games with Lake Erie, Peoria, Hartford, Hamilton, Charlotte, Utica and Ontario, Hensick holds 523 points (155 goals, 368 assists) and is a four-time AHL All-Star selection.
Selected in the third round (88th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by Colorado, Hensick appeared in 112 NHL contests totaling 12 goals and 26 assists for 38 points. Prior to turning pro, Hensick attended the University of Michigan for four seasons and is a two-time Hobey Baker Finalist.
