Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forwards Phil Maillet and Keegan Iverson.
Maillet, 24, made his pro debut with the Reign last season on March 31 at Bakersfield and scored his first pro goal the same evening en route to four points (two goals, two assists) over eight games in the regular season and also appeared in four playoff games. The Lachenaie, Quebec, native completed a four-year career at the University of New Brunswick totaling 166 points (60 goals, 106 assists) in 101 games and earned two University Cup Championships (2016, 2017). On May 1, he earned the prestigious BLG Award as the top male university athlete in Canada.
Iverson, 21, joined the Reign on April 17 last season, but did not appear in a game. Over five seasons with the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL, the St. Louis Park, Minnesota, native registered 190 points (80 goals, 110 assists) in 293 games and helped the team capture a league title in 2013. Iverson was selected by the New York Rangers in third round (85 overall) over the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
