Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), hosted the Kings for the first-ever Kings vs. Kings intra-squad contest at Citizens Business Bank Arena with Team White prevailing over Team Black, 4-3, in the shootout.

Goaltenders Jonah Imoo (Team White) and Jack Campbell (Team Black) opened the 5-on-5 skate to start the contest. Both teams sustained limited offensive pressure before netminders Jack Flinn (Black) and Thomas McCollum (White) jumped in halfway through the 30-minute period.

Team White forward Nick Shore broke open the scoring with 6:44 left in the 5-on-5 session, catching a feed from forward Devin Setoguchi off the left-wing faceoff circle and slipping a shot under the blocker of Flinn. Defenseman Vincent LoVerde picked up the second assist. With the clocking winding down, Team White was flagged for a penalty leading to a penalty shot for Team Black forward Andy Andreoff. McCollum denied Andreoff with the right-pad to preserve a 1-0 advantage heading into the intermission.

During the 4-on-4 session, forward Michael Mersch gave Team White a two-goal lead, deflecting in a Derek Forbort shot from the right point. Team Black jumped on the scoreboard during their 5-on-4 power play as forward Tanner Pearson collaborated with defenseman Brayden McNabb. Team White did not capitalize on their highlighted power play.

Facing the final session, 3-on-3 skating, Team Black pushed for scoring chances and forward Jonny Brodzinski rifled in the game-tying marker with 56.4 seconds remaining. Defenseman Paul LaDue picked up the assist.

In the shootout, Setoguchi and forward Adrian Kempe lit the goal lamp for Team White while Andreoff picked up the lone marker for Team Black.
