The Ontario Reign have agreed to a professional tryout with goaltender NHL veteran goaltender Ray Emery.
Emery, 33, appeared in 31 games with the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) last season going 10-11-7 with a 3.06 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.
Over a 13-year professional career, the native of Hamilton, Ontario has appeared in 287 NHL contests with Philadelphia, Chicago, Anaheim and Ottawa, earning a 248-155-46 record with a 2.58 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.
The netminder helped the Chicago Blackhawks capture the 2013 Stanley Cup Championship. In that season, Emery teamed up with Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford to capture the William Jennings Trophy awarded to the goaltender(s) who allowed the fewest goals during the regular season.
The 6-foot-2, 196-pound netminder holds 162 games of AHL experience with an 81-61-18 record, 2.50 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.
