Reign Collide with Roadrunners Tonight at Citizens Business Bank Arena

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), host the Tucson Roadrunners tonight at 6:00 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tonight is the 10th of 12 regular-season meetings between the two teams.

Series at a Glance:

The Reign are 4-3-2-0 against the Roadrunners this season, 3-0-0-0 at Citizens Business Bank Arena and last battled the Roadrunners on February 22, skating away with a 3-0 victory. Reign forward T.J. Hensick and defenseman Vincent LoVerde each have two goals and five assists for seven points to lead the head-to-head series.

Mighty Mersch:

Reign forward Michael Mersch has two goals in his last two games since returning to the lineup. Mersch missed 18 games (Jan. 7-Feb. 26) due to injury.

Brush Your Shoulders Off:

Goaltender Jeff Zatkoff made 28 saves last night in his first start with the Reign, guiding them to a 2-1 victory over the Stockton Heat. For Zatkoff, the start was his first since January 23 against the New York Rangers (with the Kings).

Roadrunners Turn to Leaders to Snap Skid:

The Roadrunners enter tonight’s contest on a five-game winless streak (0-4-1-0). Forward Chris Mueller is tied for sixth in the AHL with 47 points (11 goals, 36 assists) and stands third in the league in assists. Rookie forward Christian Fischer is tied for fifth among first-year players with 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) and second among rookies in goals.
