The Ontario Reign announced that goaltender Peter Budaj has returned to the team following his brief stint with the LA Kings.
Budaj, 33, leads the AHL with a 1.58 goals-against average, 26 wins, eight shutouts, .935 save percentage and 2285 minutes played.
The native of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia stands fifth in the league with 862 saves and represented the Reign during the 2016 AHL All-Star Classic in Syracuse, New York.
During his time with the Kings, Budaj earned a 5-4 overtime victory over the New York Rangers on Friday, making 24 saves. The win is his first in the NHL since April 4, 2014.
Selected in the second-round (63rd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by Colorado, Budaj has appeared in 297 career NHL games with Colorado, Montreal and Los Angeles, posting a record of 125-107-36 with a 2.76 goals against average, a .903 save percentage and 11 shutouts.
