ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, have announced today that defenseman Steven Tarasuk, in addition to future considerations, has been traded to the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads for forwards David Fredriksson and Tommy Lange, and defenseman Steven Oleksy.

Two Forwards and One D-Man Added to Ontario Lineup
Fredriksson, 26, played in 45 games with the Steelheads this season recording 24 points (9g, 15a) in his first season of North American hockey. Prior to playing for Idaho, the winger spent the 2010-11 season with Tingsryds AIF of Sweden’s second-highest league, HockeyAllsvenskan. The Jonkoping, Sweden native tallied 15 points (6g, 9a) in 43 games with the team. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder spent eight seasons playing professional hockey in his home country with the HV71 Jonkoping for seven seasons and Sodertalje SK for one season recording 20 points (11g, 9a)in 161 games.
Lange, 24, recorded 10 points (6g, 4a) in just 14 games with the Steelheads after signing with the club on Jan. 16, 2012. The forward spent the beginning of the season playing in Holland for the Turnhout Whitecaps tallying 55 points (25g, 30a) in 28 games. The St. Louis, Missouri native made his professional debut in 2008 with the IHL’s Kalamazoo Wings and played for the club the following year when they moved to the ECHL. Lange also skated with the Toledo Walleye and Missouri Mavericks during the 2009-10 season. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound forward has accrued 77 professional points (39g, 38a) in 120 contests.
Oleksy, 26, is currently in the AHL playing for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on a one-way contract. His 2011-12 season has been split between the AHL club and the Steelheads. Oleksy has played in 35 games for the Sound Tigers recording seven points, all assists, with a plus/minus rating of +13. With Idaho, the defenseman recorded eight points (1g, 7a) in 14 appearances. Last season, he split his time between the Steelheads and the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters where he earned a total of 25 points (7g, 18a) in 72 games. The 6-foot, 195-pound, Chesterfield, Michigan native played three seasons of collegiate hockey for Lake Superior State University totaling 20 points (3g, 17a) in 113 games. His professional debut came in 2008 with the Las Vegas Wranglers for two games. Oleksy spent the 2009-10 season between the Toledo Walleye (ECHL), Port Huron Icehawks (IHL), and Idaho (ECHL).
Tarasuk, 22, leaves the Reign after playing in 58 games with the club this season. The defenseman recorded his best professional season in Ontario with 31 points (7g, 24a) and a career-high +7 rating.
