Berube Reassigned to Manchester
Goaltender makes his second career AHL appearance
ONTARIO, Calif.- The Ontario Reign, 2011-12 Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, announce that goaltender J.F. Berube has been reassigned to the AHL’s Manchester Monarchs by the Los Angeles Kings for the first time this season.
Berube, 20, completed his first full professional season with the Reign earning a 2.87 goals against average and a 0.907 save percentage in 37 appearances. He finished the season with a record of 17-13-4 including a career-high four shutouts.
Prior to turning pro, the Repetigny, Quebec native played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Montreal Juniors for three seasons spanning from 2008-2011. In his 2010 professional debut, Berube played three games for the Monarchs where he earned a 2-1-0 record, a 3.67 goals against average and a 0.855 save percentage.
The 6-foot-1, 174 pound goaltender was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft (#95 overall).
Berube will join the Monarchs in Norfolk, Virginia in time to prepare for the first game of the 2012 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the top seeded Norfolk Admirals on Friday, April 20. The goaltender will continue to wear number 35 for the other Los Angeles Kings affiliate.
