LA Kings Prospects join Reign

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forwards Mike Amadio and Spencer Watson have joined the team on amateur tryout agreements.

Amadio, 19, completed a four-year junior career with the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) totaling 226 points (92 goals, 134 assists) in 263 games. Last season, the Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, native finished ninth in the OHL with 98 points and fourth with 50 goals and served as the Battalion team captain. In 2014, Amadio was selected by the Kings in the third round (90th overall) of the NHL Entry Draft.


Watson, 19, placed 11th in the OHL scoring race last season with 89 points (43 goals, 46 assists) in 64 games with the Kingston Frontenacs. Over four seasons with the Frontenacs, the London, Ontario, product acquired 248 points (119 goals, 129 assists) in 233 games and was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team in 2012-13. Watson was drafted by the Kings in the seventh round (209th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

The Ontario Reign kick off the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs on Friday, April 22 with Game 1 of their best-of-five series against the San Jose Barracuda at 7:30 p.m. at SAP Center in San Jose, California.
