NHL Veteran Jaroslav Modry Joins Reign Coaching Staff

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that Jaroslav Modry has been named an Assistant Coach and joins Head Coach Mike Stothers and Assistant Coach David Bell.

A 15-year NHL veteran, Modry totaled 250 points (49 goals, 201 assists) in 725 games and skated nine seasons with the Kings. In the AHL, he helped the Albany River Rats claim a Calder Cup Championship in 1995. Following his playing career, the Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, native served as a volunteer assistant coach with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) during the 2011-12 season and stood as the head coach of the AAA level Troy Alby Titans Youth Hockey League.

Modry actively coaches the Jr. Kings 16U AAA Minor team that he led to a California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) state title and guides the Jr. Kings’ Pee Wee AAA Major team.
