Reign and Condors Collide on Frozen Princess Night Tonight

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), host the Bakersfield Condors tonight at 7:00 PT at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tonight is the second of 10 regular-season meetings between the two teams.

Beating the Buzzards:

The Reign are 1-0-0-0 against the Condors this season after picking up a 3-2 victory on December 16 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Forward Michael Mersch netted a goal and an assist and netminder Jack Campbell registered 31 saves. Mersch leads the Reign all-time with 11 points (two goals, nine assists) against the Condors.

The Great Outdoors:

The Reign and Condors will take their rivalry outdoors for the Outdoor Classic on January 7 at Bakersfield College Memorial Stadium. The Outdoor Classic with be the ninth outdoor game in American Hockey League history and the second in California. The Condors and Stockton Heat met outdoors last season at Raley Field in Sacramento on December 19 with the Heat prevailing 3-2. Buy Tickets

Since November 12, the Reign are 10-3-2-0, sit third in the Pacific Division and are .034 percentage points from the first-place Stockton Heat.

Soup is Heating Up:

Goaltender Jack Campbell has started the last nine consecutive contests for the Reign and allowed two goals or less in six of the nine games.

Hensick, Purcell and Mersch Rolling:

Forwards T.J. Hensick (one goal, four assists), Teddy Purcell (two goals, three assists) and Michael Mersch (three goals, one assist) enter tonight’s contest on three-game point streaks.
