Reign and Rampage Close Season Series Tonight in Ontario

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), take on the San Antonio Rampage tonight at 6:00 PT at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Tonight is the sixth and final regular-season meeting between the two teams this season.

The Reign are 3-1-1-0 against the Rampage this season, 1-1-0-0 at Citizens Business Bank Arena and 7-1-3-0 all-time.

Magic Number:

The Reign’s magic number to clinch a playoff berth is 10 points. The number is reduced with points earned or teams outside the playoff picture failing to earn standings points.

Hensick Leads the Way:

Reign forward T.J. Hensick leads the head-to-head series with the Rampage with seven points (seven assists) and has six points (two goals, four assists) over his last six games.

Mersch Doubles Up:

Forward Michael Mersch registered two goals last night, including a shorthanded tally, in a 3-2 victory over the Rampage. His last two-goal performance came on December 9 at Tucson.

Youngsters Kick In Last Night:

Defenseman Alex Lintuniemi recorded his first AHL multi-point game last night, grabbing two assists. Forward Quentin Shore, who was just recalled from Manchester of the ECHL on Wednesday, netted his first AHL goal.

Leading the Rampage:

Forward Rocco Grimaldi is tied for the AHL lead with 27 goals and rookie A.J. Greer is 18 among first-year players with 38 points (15 goals, 23 assists).
