Reign Celebrate Military Appreciation Night Tonight vs. San Diego

Ontario, CA – The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), host the San Diego Gulls tonight at 6:00 at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Military Appreciation Night presented by the Bob Hope USO and the Ontario International Airport Authority. Tonight is the 10 of 12 regular-season meetings between the two teams.

Reign Clinch Playoff Berth:

With a 4-0 victory over the Gulls last night in San Diego and a Bakersfield Condors loss in San Antonio, the Reign clinched a berth in the 2017 Calder Cup Playoffs for the second consecutive season. Playoff ticket priority sign up is underway NOW!

Military Appreciation Night:

Say "Thank You" to those who serve and support the USO alongside the Ontario International Airport Authority and the Ontario Reign on Military Appreciation Night tonight. The Reign will be wearing special camo jerseys and hosting a postgame jersey auction to benefit the Bob Hope USO. Buy Tickets

SoCal Series:

The Reign are 5-3-1-0 against the Gulls this season and hold an 9-9-2-1 all-time record. All time, the Reign are 3-4-2-1 against the Gulls at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The Reign’s 4-0 victory over the Gulls last night was the second largest margin of victory in team history. The Reign blanked the Gulls 5-0 on January 15, 2016. Goalie Peter Budaj made 27 saves for the shutout and former Reign and current Gulls forward Jordan Samuels-Thomas had two goals.

Leading the Way:

Reign forward Jonny Brodzinski, who is currently up with the Kings, leads the head-to-head series with eight points (three goals, five assists) and Reign forward T.J. Hensick leads all skaters in the series with four goals. Reign forward Sean Backman (one goal, five assists) and Hensick (four goals, two assists) are tied among active skaters for the series lead with six points (one goal, five assists).

Reign Vets Continue to Shine:

Veteran Reign forwards T.J. Hensick and Teddy Purcell continue to provide a scoring touch. Purcell registered two assists last night in the 4-0 win at San Diego and has two goals and 10 assists in his last 11 games. Hensick picked up an assist last night and has three goals and seven assists in his last 11 games.

Flying High:

Gulls forward Kalle Kossila is currently tied for fourth among AHL rookies with 47 points (14 goals, 33 assists). Forward Corey Tropp is tied for 15 in the AHL with 54 points (21 goals, 33 assists).
