ONTARIO, CA – The Ontario Reign announced today that they have signed defenseman Colton Saucerman to a professional tryout contract (PTO). Saucerman has played in 56 games this year with the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL) posting 34 assists and 39 points (5-34-39). Saucerman also skated on a PTO in three contests with the Providence Bruins from February 25, 2018 – March 4, 2018. Saucerman tallied one assist in that time.


The 25-year-old Saucerman (born May 5, 1992) is a 5-9, 194-pound native of Colorado Springs, CO who has skated in 113 career ECHL games (10-64-74) and eight AHL games (0-1-1) spending time with Hershey, Springfield and Providence. Following his senior season at Northeastern University (2015-16), Saucerman signed an ECHL contract with the South Carolina Stingrays. On March 6, 2017, Saucerman was traded to the Manchester Monarchs for forward Derek Arnold. Saucerman skated in 19 contests with Manchester in the 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs posting 8 assists and ten points (2-8-10). Manchester was eliminated by Saucerman’s former team, South Carolina, in seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals.


The Reign are back at home tomorrow, Saturday, March 17 when they host the Milwaukee Admirals, AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators for VGHC St. Patrick’s Day with the Reign at 6:00 PM. Single game tickets are available at or by visiting the Citizens Business Bank Arena Box Office.
