The offseason is underway and with the 2018-19 season deep in the rearview mirror, the 2019-20 Ontario Reign roster has already started to take shape. Players will join the Reign in a variety of different ways, whether they are assigned by the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, sign with the Reign directly or are loaned by another NHL team. The makeup of an AHL roster is not as black and white as it is at the NHL level. Unlike the NHL, there is no salary cap or roster limit in the AHL and, in many situations, AHL players are signed only to one-year contracts. Therefore, the makeup of a roster at this level can take more time to develop with fluctuation from year-to-year.

We take a look below at the status of 2018-19 Ontario Reign players, as well as new players signed by the Kings and Reign during the 2019 offseason.
